Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
Freshly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. It is recommended to allow at least 28 days for new surfaces for curing. Ensure the surface is thoroughly clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi and algae. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required. Bituminous coating applied prior to this should be scraped off completely. Check the surface properly for any loosely held plaster. Dents and other cracks should be filled using suitable repair mortar. Fill up all minor cracks and defects with a cement and sand mixture in the ratio 1:3. Avoid application of putty or filling compound. Ensure uniform slope to the surface, For areas severely affected by algae or fungus, application of Dulux Aquashield Pre Treatment Coat is recommended.
