Product Description

Aquashield Flexible basecoat is a high quality premium basecoat that provides waterproof protection to exterior walls. Its revolutionary Hydroshield technology bridges cracks and covers the wall surface with a flexible film, preventing water seepage. It also protects the surface against alkali, algae and fungus attacks.

Application Description

Apply 2-3 coats of Dulux Aquashield Flexible Waterproof Basecoat with 4-6 hours interval between coats

Health & Safety

Flammable. In case of fire use foam, dry powder, AFFF, CO2 fire extinguisher. Never use water. No smoking. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep container tightly closed and upright to prevent leakage when not in use. Work only in areas of good ventilation. Inside always keep doors and windows fully open during application and drying. Irritating to eyes and skin. Contains COBALT CARBOXYLATE, May produce an allergic reaction. When applying paint it is advisable to wear eye protection. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water keeping eyelids apart and seek medical advice. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Wear gloves while working. In case of contact with skin, use soap and water or a recognized skin cleaner. Use suitable respiratory equipment while applying paint in narrow spaces. Dry sanding, flame cutting and or welding of the dry paint film will give rise to dust and or hazardous fumes. Wet sanding should be used wherever possible. If exposure cannot be avoided by the provision of local exhaust ventilation, suitable respiratory protective equipment should be used. In case of insufficient ventilation during spraying wear suitable respiratory equipment, a suitable cartridge mask should be worn provided the filter is changed regularly. All respiratory equipment must meet an appropriate approved standard. Do not breathe vapour or sanding dust. If inhalation causes physical discomfort move to fresh air. If discomfort persists or any breathing difficulty occurs, move to fresh air and seek medical advice by showing container label. Harmful if swallowed, seek medical advice immediately. Care must be taken when transporting paint. Keep container tightly closed and upright to prevent leakage when not in use. Store in a cool and dry place. In the event of an accident, collect spillage using sand or earth. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Very toxic to aquatic organisms. May cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Dispose off any paint waste in accordance with the appropriate environment quality regulations. Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    New or Bare surfaces: Freshly prepared surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. It is recommended to allow at least 12-16 weeks curing time for new masonary surfaces. New or bare surfaces must be clean, dry and free from efflorescent salts.Scuff the surface with suitable sandpaper or sandstone to make the plaster surface smooth. Dust off thoroughly.For best results apply a single coat of Dulux Exterior Crack Bridging primer (refer PDS for correct application procedure). Let the surface to dry for 2-3 hrs. Previously Painted Sound Surfaces: Remove all defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable abrasive paper or stiff brush and dust off. Treat any area affected by mould, lichens, algae with bleach. Scuff surface with suitable sandpaper to reach plaster and dust off thoroughly.
    Powdery, Dusty Surfaces, Cracks & Other Surface Defects: Repair defects in the surface. Use cement mixture for large holes and cracks. Remove all defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable abrasive paper or stiff brush and dust off. Treat any area affected by moulds, lichens and algae with bleach. Allow the surface to dry & prepare the surface as described above.

    Clean all equipment with Mineral turpentine immediately after use

    Store paint in dry conditions and protect from extreme temperatures.
