Product Description

ICI Paintex Wall Putty (water based) is a high quality ready to use filler for all types of interior masonry surfaces such as plaster. It is easy to apply and quick drying. Its good filling properties give a smooth finish for application of topcoat. ICI Paintex Wall Putty is not recommended for exterior use

Application Description

Apply 2-3 coats of Paintex Putty and leave for 2-3 hours between coats

Health & Safety

Treatments such as sanding, burning off etc. of paint films may generate hazardous dust and/or fumes. Wet sanding/ flatting should be used wherever possible. Work in well ventilated areas. Use suitable personal protection equipment. Lift with care – gross weight exceeds 10kg Wear eye/ hand protection. Do not breathe vapors/spray. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Remove as much paints as possible from brushes and rollers before cleaning. Avoid release to the environment. Collect spillage. Keep away from food, drinks and animal feed. Store in a cool and shaded place. Container must be in a secure, upright position and be tightly closed. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact with skin wash immediately with soap and water or a proprietary skin cleanser. Do not use solvents or thinners. Do not empty into water course. Safety data sheet available for professional/ user on request. Hazard Statements May cause an allergic skin reaction. Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Precautionary Statements Keep out of reach of children. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor if you feel unwell. Dispose of contents and container in accordance with all local, regional, national or international regulations.  

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    New or Bare Surfaces: Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from efflorescent salts. After priming with ICI Paintex Ultraprime, dry overnight and fill with surface with two coats of ICI Paintex Putty. Allow the putty to dry. For best results, apply one coat of ICI Paintex Ultraprime over wall putty and dry overnight.
    Previously Painted Sound Surfaces: Remove all defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable abrasive paper and dust off. Spot prime and fill surface as described above if required.
    Powdery, Dusty Surfaces, Cracks & Other Surface Defects: Remove all defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable adhesive paper or stiff brush and dust off. Treat any areas affected by mould, lichens or algae with bleach. For large holes and cracks, use sand and cement mixture. Allow to dry. Prime surface, dry overnight and then fill any surface imperfections as described above. For best results, apply one coat of ICI Paintex Ultraprime over wall putty and dry overnight.

    Clean all equipment with clean water immediately after use
