Product Description
Dulux Red Oxide Anti-Corrosion Metal Primer is a solvent-based sealer, anti-corrosive protective primer for interior and exterior ferrous and non-ferrous metal work including new and pre-treated zinc and galvanized iron after using pre-treatment primer.
Application Description
Apply one coat of Dulux Red Oxide Primer and leave for 16 hours
Health & Safety
Flammable. In case of fire use foam, dry powder, AFFF, CO2 fire extinguisher. Never use water. No smoking. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from sources of ignition. Keep container tightly closed and upright to prevent leakage when not in use. Work only in areas of good ventilation. Inside always keep doors and windows fully open during application and drying. Irritating to eyes and skin. Contains METHYL ETHYLY KETOXIME, May produce an allergic reaction. When applying paint it is advisable to wear eye protection. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water keeping eyelids apart and seek medical advice. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. Wear gloves while working. In case of contact with skin use soap and water or a recognized skin cleaner. Use suitable respiratory equipment while applying paint in narrow spaces. Dry sanding, flame cutting and or welding of the dry paint film will give rise to dust and or hazardous fumes. Wet sanding should be used wherever possible. If exposure cannot be avoided by the provision of local exhaust ventilation, suitable respiratory protective equipment should be used.
In case of insufficient ventilation during spraying wear suitable respiratory equipment, a suitable cartridge mask should be worn provided the filter is changed regularly. All respiratory equipment must meet an appropriate approved standard. Do not breathe vapour or sanding dust. If inhalation causes physical discomfort move to fresh air. If discomfort persists or any breathing difficulty occurs, move to fresh air and seek medical advice by showing container label. Harmful if swallowed seek medical advice immediately. Care must be taken when transporting paint. Keep container tightly closed and upright to prevent leakage when not in use. Store in a cool and dry place. In the event of an accident, collect spillage using sand or earth. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Very toxic to aquatic organisms. May cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Dispose of any paint waste in accordance with the appropriate environment quality regulations. 1. Preparing the SurfacesNew or Bare surface: Surfaces generally must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, and grease and wax. Thoroughly rub down the surface using a suitable abrasive paper and dust off.
Galvanized & Aluminium surfaces: New galvanized and aluminium surfaces should be cleaned and degreased, then pre-treated with an appropriate pre-treatment primer to ensure good adhesion.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Previosuly painted surfaces should be thoroughly rubbed down using a suitable abrasive paper and then dusted off. -
2. CleaningClean all equipment with Mineral turpentine immediately after use
