Application Description

After surface preparation apply 2-3 coats of Dulux Velvet Touch base coat in the recommended colour. Ensure 3-4 hours for drying between successive coats. Then apply the one coat of Velvet Touch Colour Motion with brush in a random criss cross pattern. Leave the paint to dry for four to six hours to see the final effect. Please refer to the product brochure or visit our website for the detail application procedure instructions or the demo video for the best results. It is advisable to carry out small scale trials before application over large surface area. Ensure a slight overlap of sections while working to avoid demarcations of the finish. Avoid windy conditions in the room. Room temperature should ideally be between 20°C to 35°C. Very hot and dry conditions are to be avoided. Use of any other paint apart from specially formulated Dulux Velvet Touch may deviate the desired finish and make it hard to recondition. Contains no added lead or mercury. Health & Safety

Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from sources of ignition. In case of fire use foam, dry powder, AFFF or CO2 fire extinguisher. Never use water.Keep container tightly closed and upright to prevent leakage when not in use. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. When applying paint it is advisable to wear eye protection and suitable gloves. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water keeping eyelids apart and seek medical advice. Remove splashes from skin, use soap and water or a recognized skin cleaner. Work only in areas of good ventilation. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. When using inside, always keep doors and windows fully open during application and drying. A suitable cartridge mask should be worn when rubbing down. Harmful if swallowed; seek medical advice. Dry sanding, flame cutting and or welding of the dry paint film will give rise to dust and or hazardous fumes. Wet sanding should be used wherever possible. If exposure cannot be avoided by the provision of local exhaust ventilation, suitable respiratory protective equipment should be used. Do not breathe vapour or sanding dust as product is toxic by inhalation. If inhalation causes physical discomfort, move to fresh air. If discomfort persists or any breathing difficulty occurs, seek medical advice and show container label. Care must be taken when transporting paint. Do not store by hanging on a hook. Protect from extreme temperatures. Store in a cool and dry place. In an event of an accident, collect spillage using sand or earth. Do not empty into drains or watercourses as product is very toxic to aquatic organisms and may cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Dispose off any paint waste in accordance with the appropriate environment quality regulations. Safety Data Sheet available for professional users on request. The container is only for paint use.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    New or bare surfaces must be clean, dry and free from efflorescent salts. Remove all loose, defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable abrasive paper or stiff fiber brush and dust off. Treat any areas affected by mould, lichens, algae & moss with bleach. After priming new surfaces with Dulux Aqua Prime, fill the surface with Dulux Wall Putty. Apply primer on a wall putty before application of topcoat. Previously Painted Sound Surfaces: Remove all loose, defective or poorly adhering material by rubbing down using a suitable abrasive paper or stiff fiber brush and dust off. Spot prime and fill the surface as described above if required.
    Powdery, Dusty and Cracked Surfaces: Make good minor defects. For larger holes and cracks, use sand and cement mixture. Allow the surface to dry. Prepare surface as described above.
  • 2. Cleaning
    Clean all equipment with clean water immediately after use
  • 3. Storing
    Store paint in dry conditions and protect from extreme temperatures. Container must be in a secure, upright position and be tightly closed.
