From pure white and dramatic black to earthy tones of grey and beige, neutral colours exist in an almost infinite range of colours. These hues are flattering in every light and incredibly versatile as they can be paired with almost any colour, from soft pastels to rich, dramatic tones.

Think of the glow of polished wood, the sheen of gold, bronze or copper, the variations of natural pebbles and stones – these luscious colours are full of character. Use neutral colours to tone down bright hues or link two contrasting colours together, such as mustard yellow and navy blue or plum red and emerald green. You could also work neutral colours into a dark room to lighten the feel of the space – never underestimate the power of a fresh coat of crisp white paint!
